The French leaseback scheme was introduced by the French government two decades ago to attract tourists. As more of an incentive the government refund the VAT on the property. (19.6%)

With a leaseback property you own the freehold 100% you are simply leasing the property back to a management company who will furnish, rent out and maintain the property for the duration of the contract (normally between 9 - 12 years) After which you will have the option of renewing the contract or managing the property yourself.

In most cases Leaseback properties are purchased off plan. This is very frequent in France and the potential buyer is able to study detailed plans before purchasing. However, leasebacks are proving to be very popular investments so taking to long to decide could mean that you miss out.
